Hello, just if anyone was interested in the rules in our small country.. Tails can be docked only on hunting breeds. Other breeds such as Dobermans cannot be docked and ears cannot be cropped. So weims are among the dogs that are docked regularly, no matter whether they are showing or hunting lines. So far it seems that it will remain this way. However I have seen some breeders who decided not to dock as the show regulations around our country are changing. I have heard that in Austria you can now show only undocked dogs, those hunting breeds are not an exception. I believe only if there was a medical reason you can get an exception. In Germany you have to prove your dog has a working certificate. I believe other countries will follow Austria and Germany.
