I am compiling a list of stud dogs who have Dual credentials for use by breeders who are focused on dual-dogs in their line. It is a reference for breeders who are passionate about the dual dog to learn of dual-type stud dogs and then investigate further to see if any of the dogs may fit into their breeding program.
Two types of dogs will be included on the list:
Proven Dual-dogs - for the US this includes Dual Champions, Ch./AFC, Ch./Master Hunter & Ch./ NAVHDA Utility dogs.
Up & Coming Dual-dogs - for the US this includes Champion or major-pointed dogs with Senior Hunter titles, Master Hunter legs or Field Trial points (from broke stakes). Or any combination of major-pointed and upper level hunting credentialed dogs.
The list will be more complete if I can include dogs from all countries. I do not know how our hunting tests compare to tests around the world. But for comparison, the criteria for the proven dual dogs is obviously a finished show championship, plus the highest level field title for the given venue (FC for field trials, MH for hunt tests or UT for NAVHDA). The criteria for the up & coming dual dogs is at least major points in the show; and at least points or legs towards hunting titles that require the dog have some upper level training. Upper level training in the field requires that the dog stand broke on his birds, hunt for the gun and display some level of obedience.
So, if you own or have bred stud dogs that fit these criteria and would like them included on the list please email me privately. The information should include: registered name, call name, field merits, show merits, date of birth, number of proven dual-dogs in the previous 3-generations, contact name and webpage (if you have one). My email address is aktyson@earthlink.net.
Thanks,
Anne Tyson
