... and greetings to all Weim-People out there. I am owner of a longhaired, male Weim and we share our home with another human/weim pair and two cats. I am looking forward to get to know a lot of interesting people and make some even more interesting experiences. Cheers, Artemis

I thought so, so I tried to clarify matters. Well, not such big news as with you (congratulations to you and Roel again ), but it stays interesting. I finished my dissertation in december, which is why I will be travelling Europe (and further actually), because being relatively young ;D I was granted the travelling grant of the German Archaeological Institute (= getting money for travelling the world and looking at all the important archaeological and historical sites). Now I am busy jobbing here and there (try to find someone to employ you when leaving again for 6 months), to earn some extra money, as the amount of money given by the GAI is limited. How about you? Life's like living on clouds at the mom? How's the pack? Cheers Artemis

Congrats!!!! Should be fantastic to do some travelling and see the world (as we do, lol). The pack is doing fine. We're busy training for a VGP and schweißprufung later this year in Germany (roel has his hunting licence now). We'll have another pup as well so we'll be quite busy soon! Say hi to your other half btw!
Saw you at Jagd und Hund in the clubs stand, but you were very busy chatting.....

Congrats to Roel on his license! Say hi to him from Michael (who's actually peering over my shoulder - and say hi too) and me!
You are/will be travelling too? Where will you go? With dogs, or without?
Cheers Artemis

We're off to New Zealand in September. For sightseeing, but for hunting as well kindly organised by John Redfearn from Safaritours. He's also on this forum. Can't wait!!

Hi Marjolein.
That sounds great!!! As you are hunting as well, I assume you will take the pack, or some of them, as well?
I hope you will write some lines on that experience!?
Cheers Artemis

Unfortunately we won't be bringing the dogs. There is a quarantine rule. We have to be a month "dogless", which will be very hard. Hope to see Johns shorthairs, which makes up a bit for missing our lit..... Yes, stories about our trip will follow.

Welcome to the board!
And good luck in your travels.
Mar, you know your next trip MUST be to Canada. But give us plenty of warning so we can alert the authorities that more europeans will be coming. When Artemis and her crew were here last year they almost bought the entire stock of merchandise at Cabelas (hunting equipment store) and then attempted to kidnap a cowboy and his horse to take back to Germany with them!
Oh, and don't forget to bring some Stroopwafels. We've cleaned out all the stores in town.
Artemis, the photos you sent me of Uly are great! Send more, or better yet, post them here so all can see. I will be testing his sister Uttara in NAVHDA in a August. She is doing very well in her training. She points like a dream and she is a natural backer!!

Hi chiendog! Thanks. I finally managed to get myself registered. Well, with support of all those marvelous people I miraculously got to know since entering the Weimaraner World , this tour can not become anything else but just GREAT Oi, we actually weren't that locust-ish, but I have to admit that we came quite close. And to be honest, I actually preferred Wholesale. ;D About the cowboy... ok it's true. About the pics: I am really happy that they did not fall prey to the world-wide-nirvana. Well, actually I think I might be capable of doing both (sending you some more and post some here). I did not get any photos of Uttara yet. Her pointing was great - unbelievably good at some points - back here when she was still very young, and I think the conditions you can provide are definitely aiding her a lot to go along the road of perfect pointing even further. I wish you all the best for NAVHDA, I am sure she will be excellent! By the way was she rechristened or not? Cheers Artemis

I will send you some photos of Uttara and/or post some here.
Yes. Her name is now "Maizie" and she and Henri are like Romeo and Juliette!
