Hi guys, Been watching on the news all you in the 'cooler regions' sliding around in all that white stuff. So I thought I'd tell you how it is here. Where I live we are expecting 38 degrees celcius today. Looking out the window, the paddocks that were green just a little time ago, have turned a golden brown. The gum trees are still as there is not even a breeze, the blue sky is reflecting on the dam. In the garden, the Buddliahs are out and attracting butterflies, and the roses are in full bloom. The dogs are all lying around, staying cool. How is it where you live? Wendy

It's very cold here in Holland and a little bit of snow is on the ground. But i think it's much more cold in Skandinavia. The temp. on my place is -6 degrees in the night and round 0 degrees on the day. The dogs are playing around in the snow. They like it very much.

It's very cold here and I envy the kind of weather you are having Wendy though I am sure I would complain if it got too hot for me!
Yesterday, there was scattered snow here and places farther down in the South East have seen quite a few inches so I believe.

It was 38 C today (but where I was the thermometer said 40) same is expected tomorrow. There are 70 + fires across NSW - good job it is a huge State. A couple of days ago a grass fire 30 mins from my place burnt down 2 houses and damaged two others. The mountains are blurred by smoke, but I think it is mainly because there has been no wind to blow it away. The grass in the paddocks is almost over my Shetland pony's back, and today the local Rural Fire tankers were parked on the sides of roads, and driving around, just in case. You see, in Canberra three years ago this January, 502 houses were destroyed in bush fires, and there is only a population of 300,000 or so.
So if you guys up North could send a bit of that cold air, or better still, some of the wet stuff, this way, it would be very welcome!!!!! Wendy, hot and very tired!

Hi Everyone, We have had a BEAUTIFUL winter in Warsaw since yesterday! About 0,5 m of snow everywhere and it is still snowing The temperature is about -5C degrees now and it SO beautiful outside . I have just come back from a walk with Lola and Boogie, they were delighted with so much snow ;D ;D The only disadvantage is that today we are not able to drive (to much show) so we have to walk everywhere....but maybe if it is still snowing I will not be able to go to work on Monday... Blue Springs Weather
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- at: 11:53 am CST Currently: 13° C Fair High: 14° C Low: 5° C The sun is shining and there are a few high wispy clouds. Mild and beautiful for New Years Day in Missouri/Kansas--so some doggies and I are going to jump in the van and go for a ride and a run(while we have the chance---not that bad weather EVER discouraged THESE dogs from going for a run).

Ilana, I just be over. On New Year's Day we had 40 C, 30 in summer sounds GREAT! And I'm not that keen on rain anyway. Not that we've had much in the last 5 years. We have had a drought, which is not unusual for Australia, then we had lots of rain, now none again. What that has meant is grass as high as your shoulder around where we live, which has now died, and is a great fire risk. There are big fires less than an hour from where we live. And now we are getting wind............just great. 7 houses lost already. Just read on an Australian list about a GSD person. They got their dogs in the trailer and got out of their house. The car was hit by a fire ball, and is very badly damaged, but the dogs are OK as there was a tree in the way and saved the trailer. Their metal fence melted, and their carport is very buckled, but their house was saved. And this is only the start of the season. In America they are having fires in Texas, floods on the West Coast and now are on tornado watch in the middle. Are you in that area, Fred? Wendy
