Hello all, from snowy Helsinki!
I own a 14 month male weim Dave. Dave is my first weimaraner and my previous experience has been with my parents german pointers. Dave has been mainly enjoying the life of a very much loved family pet, but after it gets a bit warmer here the training for autumns hunting season shall begin. Now we just enjoy doggy friends at parks, weekend walks in the forrest and basic obedience training.
Dave has tow cat friends living with us in the same apartment and against all odds the three of them are getting along great!
I wish to learn more about this fantastic breed from all you guys and maybe find some answers to some questions. Weimaraners are quite rare in Finland and especially in the capital area it is very rear to see them on daily basis.
Regards from Helsinki Finland, Ennu & Dave

Welcome to the board Ennu and Dave! From Portland, Oregon.
I once had a very large male weim that I was fostering for rescue name Gabe. Dixie, one of my German Shepherd females found a tiny kitten once when we were out on a walk----and brought the kitten home with us. The kitten and Gabe became best friends. It was really hilarious to see this tiny kitten (that would have have barely weighted a pound soaking wet) and Gabe(approximately 100 pounds) playing together. Gabe was extremely gentle and careful----to the point of being funny. The kitten used to hide under the couch or a chair---and when Gabe walked by---he'd run out and pounce on him. Then run off, with Gabe in pursuit. They played together endlessly---and then slept together when they tired of playing. They made quite a pair.

Hi very welcome from us as well, we allways had cats with our weims. Unfortenately the cats passed away of age and one was hit by a car, our cat who didn't fear anyone or anything.
Your story reminded me of the pics of our red daredavil, see pics later on, where I'll share a bit.
