Our kennelclub has decided that we can't not longer breed the weimaraner in Belgium without official HD result. Till now, only the weimaranerclub asked this. From next year on, ALL weims need to be tested. The weimaraner will be under the "obligated breeds". However many people already did this, still we saw a "one litter" breeding, and some of them didn't x-rayed the hips
Our club asked the kennelclub to make it official and they did !!!
Scores in Belgium are:
A1 A2 B1 B2 C1 C2
The FCI rule says that these scores can be bred. Only C need to be bred in combination with A or B. D and E can't be bred. The dog must be 12 months old or more

thats interesting. Well done for your club and KC for agreeing. We have some guidelines but they are not strong enough to encourage everyone who breeds to carry the xrays out and there is no breeding restriction at all so you can have a dog with appauling hip scores and still breed from them.

That has good sides and bad sides. The bad side is that you can't just breed any weimaraner but I guess the good side is more important because it protects the breed.
