Two of our members have new books just out, I hope you'll all check them out---I think it is an honor for us to have books about Weimaraners, by Weimaraner people, for Weimaraner people, and best of all, here to share with us.
Searching for Silver-Grey by Liz Harding and Debbie Ryan. - Australia.(2005)This book, of over 400 pages, traces the first 50 years of the Weimaraner in Australia and includes many photographs of the foundation dogs of the breed. A large number of these have never been seen in print before. “Searching for Silver-Grey” contains photos of many prominent dogs in the Australian pedigrees, past and present; imported dogs from England, Germany, America, Canada and New Zealand. A large section of the book is devoted to a Breeders Listing that gives a pictorial description of the breed as it will be found in Australia today. The book is a hard covered edition approximately 8½” x 12” in gunmetal grey. Ordering details contact Liz Harding at gundog@netspace.net.au or go to www.ghostdog.com.au/ for further information.
And from Peggy Morgan, owner of Penny Lane whose story you can see here in the section on service dogs:
Here's the Author's Flyer the publisher created. They don't have it up
on
their website yet but it is a good summary of the book.

As a parent of a special-needs child, you fight every
day for your son or daughter. You negotiate mazes of
red tape, try to get the attention of doctors, teachers,
and other professionals, and watch as the world
“classifies” and “categorizes” your totally unique child.
But nobody knows your child as you do. That knowledge
is the key that will unlock the door to a happier,
healthier, more productive life—and a more secure
future—for your child. PARENTING YOUR COMPLEX
CHILD presents a revolutionary, practical and powerful
system for marshalling information and observations
about your child into a cohesive plan for his or her
daily life, and for documenting and communicating the
child’s individual needs in a way that guarantees
attention and action.
The book offers the professional and personal wisdom
the author has gained through a life of advocating for
special-needs children—including her own. Compassionate
and wise, PARENTING YOUR COMPLEX CHILD
will help you assure that your child’s current and
future needs inform every discussion and determine
each decision.
PEGGY LOU MORGAN has worked with special needs
children and their families for nearly 35 years, including more
than 10 years as a professional fiduciary, setting up services
and placements for her clients. 20 years ago, Morgan adopted
a son, Billy Ray, with multiple disabilities. They live together
in Central Oregon.
