Ok, will try. In Holland are the first Weimaraners entered in the Dutch Kennel club studbook in 1898. They are entered as nr. 749, a dog namend "Roland" and his littersister nr. 750 "Bella", born April 15 1897 and bred by mr. Otto Bach, owner of the German "Weissenfels"kennel. In 1903 the next Weimaraner is entered in the studbook under nr. 1791, nemed "Lord" and was the first in Holland born Weimaraner. Nothing happend till 1917 when there wer 3 entries in the studbook. Than again in 1929 3 entries again. /the breeding historie begins first in 1954 by importing a bitch from Austria "Clivia vom Kirchfeld". Her first littter is born in 1959 and she was sired by "Jost von der Wastlhutte" also an Austrian import. In the 60ties it was still allowed to breed lh x sh, but the longhair was hardly known here till the mid 80ties. Was the Weimaraner in the sixties still a rare breed with in 1961 19 entries in the studbook. Today there are between 2.000 and 3.000 Weimaaners in Holland (of which about 200 Longhairs). Each year there are born about 250 shorthair and 25/30 Longhair. This is the story in a nutshell

Forgot to mention my source. De Weimaraner (the Dutch book about the breed). The first edition of the book is sold out, but there is a second edition. You can buy the book at the Dutch Weimaraner club. www.weimaraners.nl

So the first dogs were entered in the stud book in 1898, the first born in holland was 1903 but breeding did not start until 1954?

Indeed we found the entries in the studbook in the 19th century and we could even find entries from that dogs in dogshows. We found trace of litters in the twenties. They were bred under the prefix "Bato's" from mother "Batina" and "Bobby von Burg Ranis". So in the twenties there have been a few litters, but it was not before the fifties that we seriously started with the breeding of the Weimaraner.

you also have to take into account the war record keeping would not have been of paramount importance in comparison to protecting the family and many kennel records would have been lost.
