A week ago Friday, the nearly year old weim pup I referred to was dropped off at the shelter with his dam. I picked them up that night and have been putting weight on them, exercising them and we are all tired, happy, and figuring out what diet works for whom.
The pup, Bullet does best with a raw diet and has to still put on weight. His dam has enough weight on now to leave me this coming Monday for another foster home where they will determine if she was bred to her young son.
If she was, they intend to let her have the pups, spay & neuter all, including her, prior to rehoming. I would prefer to spay her immediately but she's going to another rescue so I am just fostering.
I am keeping the male pup longer to get weight on him and he is learning a lot and really enjoying life. He fits in very well with all of us and I requested to be first in line to adopt him.
Marjolein, I keep putting my dream of a long hair weim on hold!
I couldn't let him go and no one know his background or his lineage. His grandsire's 5 generation pedigree are all championed and his grand-dam's 5 generation pedigree are all championed except his sire, and his dam's "parents." I want to provide him the life his sire should have had.
I know I am picture illiterate, too, Liz, but I'm going to try to get a picture for the July contest of all 5 weims heads in one shot. Cheryl

As for Ducky, the blood tests and results came back. He registered a .82 for a baseline thyroid reading as of end of May. Normal ranges would be between 1.30 and 3.00 according to the test explanation.
His medication hasn't arrived in the mail yet. He's enjoying the fosters, and learning how to play and to be gentle.
All five weims helped make Satin Balls last night, and I omitted the ingredients that cause allergic reactions and replaced with cooked brown rice and rice krispies. No soft stools, and very happy weims!
