Ok, I think I may have asked this question before but I'll ask again cos I cannot remember....... Once upon a time, the Club used to sell stone Weimaraner statues........and I ain't talkin’ about the ones you can put on your mantlepiece! ;D These were almost life size and the dog was in a sitting position. For any film buffs out there - in the film Home Alone, there are two statues in 'Kevin's' living room - but blink and you will miss 'em! Anyway, I spoke to someone at the Club who said the mould had rotted and unfortunately, they no longer make them. My question is, does anyone know whether there are any still in existence, perhaps at a garden centre or something?? I did get mine from a garden centre but that was a long time ago and I would like to buy another for a friend. Thanks in advance!

Just try in English Daniela. Lovely statues. They're sold here as well, coz I've seen them on numerous occasions in gardens. I think they're Vizsla's btw, after seeing them from close by, but still lovely!!!!

There is a place that makes statues on the M23 motorway (at least I think thats which one its the main road from Brighton to London) its on the side of the road on the southbound road not much past the turning to crawley and horsham. They have several statues like this outside and inside their facility. Might be worth taking a look at them they always have a sale on.

There are several in Holland. I remember the time I collected 10 somewhere in the neighbourhood of Haarlem. They were imported and came bij lorry. We put them all in my car and I know the springs were on the lowest point so I could not drive too fast with about 700 kilo in the back. I still have one in my garden

Sieg speak German! I hadn't realised they'd stopped doing them here. I wouldn't mind one either.
Can't you see Beau with a basket in his mouth Daniela? ;D

I also have the one without basket at my front door. You see them regularly at front doors in Belgium. Some of them have 2 cute little puppies between the legs of the adult dog.

Thanks for all the replies, it seems that they are still out there but perhaps, not in the UK - at the moment

Can't you see Beau with a basket in his mouth Daniela? ;D Hmm, let me think about this. No! LOL I don't see him as a flower kind of boy. However, he did attempt to pick up a stone hedgehog the other night which was sitting on someone's doorstep! He thought it was a cat He caught a cat and a squirrel the previous evenings and unfortunately for me, they were not made of stone!

I'm on a quest now. I so fancy one of these for our garden. There is a place down the road to us that makes things might have to chat them up.

well if you can find one in amsterdam or in bordeaux I'm sure I can squish it in the back of the car but if the ferry sinks I shall not be rescuing it

Margarita and I are looking into getting a mould for the statues and seeking approval from the WCGB committee to sell them for rescue.

I think it would be great if the Club could get a mould and sell them in aid of rescue. I wish you well with your proposal, Lynn and Margarita.
