My best friend, and wonderful dog passed away quietly after nearly 15 years. He was the brightest, strongest and most loving dog I have ever known. His heart and will were so big that even to his last breath he just wanted to be with us. He appeared to have suffered a heart attack and after being carried to his bed he struggled to hold on, until we told him to go to sleep. Being the dog he was he obeyed even this final command without complaint. A memorial photo album is here: picasaweb.google.com/Ericthered/BestDogEver

He's still close by and the pain you feel now is him snuggling down in your hearts forever. His memory will live on. Thinking of you.

I'm sorry Eric---although I must say that 15 is VERY old for a Weimaraner(any dog for that matter). I'm sure that his age is a tribute to the love and care you gave him all his life. Knowing that, and how you spoke of him, it must have been a wonderful life together for all of you. Think of him often, and if a tear or a few threaten to fall, let them fall. But I hope you'll have a smile too, even as the tear falls.
Do you still have Zeiger?
