I would like to find a book with extensive Weimaraner history and a lot of pictures of old weims and weims in general that appear in todays weimaraner pedigrees. Is there any such book that you guys would recommend? Or are the books divided by continents so that one book deal with Australian weims and another with US weims and so on? Is there any really comprehensive and historical book about weims? The book may be in all nordic languages, English or German.

If you like to know more about the Australian weims I think the book "Searching for Silver-Grey" by Liz Harding and Debbie Ryan is a great book then for your collection. For the American dogs I think the "Weimaraner Ways" is a good book. And for the really old Weimaraners there is a book written in 1954 "The Complete Weimaraner" by Denlinger.

for the ones in the uk you want to look for gillian burgoins book on the weimaraner, the american kennel club magasines are good along with the pictorial histories which are a gold mine.
To be honest if you are looking for something specific say for an example your own dogs lines then there are some that might be more useful than others, the weimaraner ways is due for a long awaited reprint but is still in constructionat the moment so I don't know if you want to wait for the new book or try and find an existing copy. The denlinger book can be found on antique book stores on the net along with alot of the other weimaraner books, best place to see the range of books though is on the american weimaraner website. If you don't mind a german book then the ones written by the late german club president are a brilliant read.

Ok. Thanks for the tips The problem with looking for books that includes pictures of weims in Aku's bloodlines would be versatility. I mean he has American, Australian as well as German ancestors That's why it would be nice to find a comprehensive book but I think I might do some web search about the books you mentioned.

its ok found his peds on your site, stick with the australia book as he is primarily from australian lines, if you can get hold of a copy of weimaraner ways it will give you more details on his american history further back but the australian book does a good job and has lots of pictures regarding the american lines that did well in australia and made an impact on the breed.
