well if your very good and pm me your address I'll send you a little package of some books I have duplicates of (don't worry sylvia these ones aren't from your pile) if you aren't a member of any of the club yet join them they do some great magasines that have some interesting articles in them and you can get some back dated issues. I have some from the WCGB that you can have for a donation to rescue.
I also have duplicates of some of the American books that are more than worth a read if you are interested in history or pedigrees but they don't hold much more than you would find in the other books and sometimes looking at a photo and a pedigree isn't always that interesting for everyone - me of course I love it.
If you don't have it already start off with the Gillian Burgoin books you can get them via the Weimaraner Association or the Northern club I think can't remember which one I got mine from, if you ask nicely she might even sign a copy for you. The ragstone hand book is fabulous definitely not pc these days but great if you want to know what the dogs are really like and its one of my favorites. The other is a very good historical reference book to have in your library. If you can't get copies via the WA or other clubs then try on ebay or look on the Abebooks website - don't pay over the top these shouldn't cost you more than £30 for a good second hand copy.
You can also take advantage of some of the people on here, you have access to some fabulous breeders in a variety of different countries around the globe that are very knowledgable, if you want more american info then there is a good yahoo group called of all things 'weimaraner' that I can send you a link to, again lots of old established and chatty people that are always happy to help a newbie expand their weimaraner knowledge.
If your interested in a specific dog (maybe something from your puppies lines) then sylvia is probably the best person to go to as she has a much bigger library than me!! haha!
The one good thing about the magasines and the year books is that they have pictures of the dogs so if you are looking for a puppy you can really get to grips with what sort of dogs you like the look of and try and find breeders who have those dogs in their lines. One of my favorites all time favorites is no longer alive but I saw his picture long before I saw him in the flesh and was not disappointed, he is also the benchmark for my future dog definitely a hard act to follow.
