I wasn't sure where to put this, but since it's a puppy question....
I just got an email from one of my pup families that says that one of the puppy's eyes has turned to amber but the other is still blue. He's only 4.5 months old, so I'm assuming the other will catch up and turn amber. Does it ever happen that one remains blue?

Hi Leslie
I have seen one puppy at 8 weeks with one blue eye and one amber eye. It was the strangest thing, and I was mesmerised by it. The other eye soon turned amber and they are now both the same colour.
I recently read on another forum of an adult Weimaraner with one blue eye and one amber eye but I have never seen this in an adult Weimaraner before.

Solli's eyes changed colour at different rates and are still odd. He has one dark and one light amber.

I am told one of the early Weis in Australia actually had one yellow eye, and one brown!!! I don't recall her name, but I know she is in many pedigrees. At a show I was asking a couple of long term Wei people about some of the old dogs, and this was one bit of the info. Amazing! Wendy

Hi
My three year old bitch at 8 weeks had one amber and one blue. She now has two different coloured eyes - one light amber and one darker. During my research into this in the early days I learnt that it was actually quite common. I dont believe it is a disqualifying fault - although I dont show so its never been a worry to me.
