Hi group! So we have our Weimaraner for about three weeks now and everything is working out great! He's now about 12 weeks old The first week was...well...not so easy... But we where prepared...at night, every time he asked for it, we went outside and he "did his thing". The first night even 6 TIMES! But after three weeks he sleeps from 22h00 (end of his evening walk) until 05h30 SHARP... I guess that was the time where the breeder got up, so he's kinda conditioned to this, I think This Wednesday he will get his final shot, so we can go to puppy class. Last week we went there to become member of the dog club and so he could see the other dogs...He was NOT afraid at all with all those dogs! He even showed some dominant behaviour (said the trainer). When we went home he slept like he never slept before, such a tiered puppy We go walk with him about three times a day, at first this was not so easy, because he was scared of cars and bicycles...humans and other dogs where no problem at all! But again, that's working out fine now. We got a tip from Anick (www.greyzone.be) that rewarding him with treats works. So we did...and...she was right... We can enjoy our walks now... The only thing that he still does is biting, but we are working on that one, with the "AAUUWWW" and ignoring (walking away)... So that will pass also...we hope This forum sure helps us to (hopefully) raise a happy Weimaraner A few picture from our little devil: ;D

Sounds as though you are making good progress. What a sweet baby!!! The biting bit he will grow out of - I distructed Louis by just offering him better things to nibble on then my hands, legs and toes, like frozen carrots (good for teething) or other chewy things. Have fun and if you carry on taking him all over the place, he will soon loose his puppy fear of the unknown.

Oh he looks so good I could eat him - but not all at once. ;D ;D ;D
If he keeps on with the biting just remove yourself from the room for a short while. He will soon learn that his behaviour is not acceptable. Also, you could try folding your arms and giving him something constructive to do like a sit.
