Oh my goodness Greyghost BARF seems so scarey and heck of a lot to take in b4 i consider that .... Mitzi`s usual diet is rice & kible from our local pet store , but after the recent goings on I think we will keep to what vets have available untill she is ready for the next stage in food , as she is still needing everything for puppy diets. Thank you very much for links for minerals etc I will keep all that in mind when we next go to visit the doggie doc to see what they have there. I will also be asking about York Test too. we also have insurance with pet-plan as we do our other pets ( we have 2 rabbits & 3 cats ) so mitzi was added b4 she arrived with us. Oh the joys of having a puppy weim hey , I can say its as good as a human toddler !! I have 1 of them too what have I let myself in for worry worry and more worry ..... but worth every minute of everyday. P.S 1 more question I need to ask .... can I/ should I.. give Mitzi cows milk ? I read that they do not have enough enzymes to digest it ? Mitzi loves milk and goes crazy when we go to the fridge for milk for us and the cats .... would be interesting to know , she did have it till she was 12 weeks old with weetabix for brekki !! untill i came across that in a e book i read, I was worried and stopped over the week by adding more and more water to dilute it untill it was just water but then she wouldnt eat her weet a bix anymore. That last pic i attatched was Mitzi last week ... This is her this morning

Me finks she is outgrowing her bed LOL ;D. She is looking good . They don't really need any milk now but if you do want the odd 'treat' goats milk would be better. However, I bet she would love some nice Yeo Valley natural yoghurt. Put it in a kong and freeze it. Mash some banana with the yoghurt too. Stuff the bottom of it with some kibble to stop it dribbling through. I bet you are worried about introducing new things now. But don't be put off. Her gut should be able to cope with new thing if you do it very gradually. There is no need to stick with the food from the vets, it is extortionate. One of the girls on another forum has a girl who has continuous problems with the squits. She did a lot of research into food and finally settled on Wafcol Salmon and Potato a hypoallergenic food: www.petplanet.co.uk/product_group.asp?dept_id=358&pg_id=397BUT, until you know for sure that your dog is intolerent to things I would not panic. Everytime you change her food or add something new her stools may change. I now have some Tree barks powder in (link given previously on this thread) just in case. I didn't give my first Weim much in the way of other foods until she was about 6 and I got more confidence. She did have an iffy tum but in hind sight that was my fault for not introducing new things to her diet. Later she had yoghurt, tinned sardines in tomato sauce, the odd chicken wing (raw). Poor girl was doomed to Crappy Chappie (dry food) all because she had a torsion at the age of 1 and I wanted a food she good digest easily. Little did I know (till she puked one day after about 4 hours) that it digested really slowly, it almost came back whole. It's very difficult with your first Weim with people giving you advice left right and centre. I got it from a couple of local breeders and in the end had to cut myself off from everything and do it my way . We muddled trough somehow and then I found a forum where I learnt loads and started training (properly). Gather the information and do a bit of this and a bit of that, whatever suits you and your lifestyle. Abbie was almost 9 (1 week to go) when I lost her but she had learnt so much in her latter years and was such a relaible girl. Her biggest accomplishment was that she passed her PAT dog test www.petsastherapy.org/ but unfortunately never got to carry out any duties before she went.

BTW watch her with those soft toys. Always supervise as there may come a day she decides to swallow the contents of it. I only leave out indestructable toys, especially when I am not around to supervise and even some of those some weims have managed to destroy. LOL.

Did your vet check for Coccidia (not sure if I spelled that right)? I have had dogs get that in the past and it is not pleasant - but it is taken care of once antibiotics have been given for about 3-5 days (sometimes longer depending on the amount of bacteria present).
Good Luck!!!!!
Quite the good looking pooch as well!!!!!
