Does your dog beg at the table?

So, I'm just wondering if I'm particularly lucky or what. Audry has never asked me to share anything with her. It as if does not occur to her at all?? I would be eating anything and she would be lying by my side on the bed and not ask even once. I have never corrected her for begging because there was never any need. Maybe it's because all I eat is meat-less, but then, my other dog goes bonkers over anything I have. I don't know what would happen if I left cheese or anything and left the room - maybe she would eat it because she wouldn't know she wasn't supposed to. But she has really never begged me for anything. Just wondering!

But mine never beg either. I think it's because I learned them to stay in their baskets???

Mostly the begging comes because they get something from the food.
Lara likes to lay down by your feet, hoping that you let fall something But if I ask her to lay on her place she do as well....
Shena and Bo-ghy never beg.. They always are laying somewhere else.

My dogs never get the chance to ask (except my 16 year old crossbreed who waits for things that are dropped). I used to allow my oldest Weimaraner near the table and he would rest his head on the table, waiting to be given something. Now I do not allow them into the dining room when we are eating, as there would be a fight of some sort...

I think if you (or someone else ) feeds them from the table, they start asking.... so maybe that is why Audry never asks, because she has never been given anything so doesn't expect it??

Dogs do what works therefore if they have never received food from the table they will not beg.

Dogs that beg have generally been given some food at some time and then live in hope! ;D
