Had a good training day on the weekend. My friend's 13 week old LH weim was introduced to birds and water. Our goals were:
1. Let him smell a quail hidden in the grass.
2. Let him splash about in ankle deep water on a hot day, and nothing more really.
Well, he pointed the bird just fine. Good boy! He then tracked it as it ran off through the grass. Good boy!
As for the water portion....after about a minute or two of walking/running through some shallow puddles, it was clear that he would have no problem going deeper and deeper and...well, the little guy was actually swimming in less than 5 minutes!
