Today was the official blood tracking contest, organised by the Dutch Weim Club. Eight dogs competed, all Weims (3LH's and 5 SH's). Meike (co-owner of Mowgli and my best friend for ages) handled Mowgli today. Well, not only today, she always handles Mowgli when it comes to the blood tracking. She's better at it. Since we've had a pretty rough year with the puppies and the speying, we haven't really had the time to train her properly. But the times we had time, she did perfect. Anyway, our last practice was 2 weeks ago at a friends. It was a blind track and Mowgli did perfect on this track. So there was some hope for today. Unfortunataly Meike is very nervouss at tests. That's why I thought they'd never make it, but thank goodness they proved me wrong. It wasn't perfect, but Meike and Mowgli were the only ones with a qualification today!!!! I think I´m even happier with this than with the FT qualifications I achieved last season!!! That's because it's very, very hard to earn an official (FCI-official) qualification in Holland. Signed, a very proud mum!!
