hey, all, First shock has passed away, and I am ready to tell about our first experience in blood tracking. It was a beautiful October 1st morning, we gathered and went to a very beautiful place in the woods - about 100 kms from the capital. There was a river and a special fount above it - they call it Ula Eye, the water was like alive in there and so pure like a tear... So few guys went to lay track, we all waited. We had two fox terriers, two dachshunds, one Bayrischer Gebirgsschweisshund, our weim girl, one beagle and one Podenco Ibicenco ( RIP). A track was about 300 meters - as for a beginners I would say, it was too long. But everything went fine, beagle, bavarian and weim worked quiet good as for the first time, but after finding a fox's tail, they did not know what to do:) Other dogs worked good, dachshunds are really working dogs, so they knew what to do:) Fox terriers had also their first experiences, so worked like our little dogs:) The weather was fine, we found a lot of mushrooms for the dinner:) So we had a great time. Second time I would use another method, as Heidi has written - every ten meters - a snack, then again tracking and snack:) There would be a point for following exact blood track:) More pics at: blueabyss.sytes.net/gallery/Kraujo-p%EBdsakas-2006-10-01
