Thanx for the compliment, but you and your doggy can do it too. It's not that difficult. Only thing you have to do, is find a training school and seek some help. This hunting stuff is a bit difficult to do on your own, when you just get started. Good luck with it and I'm sure you'll be thrilled when you see what your dog is able to do!!!!!!!!!!

Welcome to the board McBrientn---where in Tennesse are you at? A good way to get started in things is the check out the Weimaraner Club of America(WCA)--- www.weimclubamerica.org/ Also, check out joining a local club, you'll find the member clubs of WCA here: www.weimclubamerica.org/about/alphaclubs.htmlIf you cann't find a local specialty club near you, there are also a lot of other possiblities, most of them will be associated with with AKC. AKC is a co-operative union of dog fancy clubs to facilitate handling paperwork, and oversee the regulation and application of rules at shows, trials and performance events. As such the member clubs set the agenda they follow and include both breed and training clubs. AKC home page: www.weimclubamerica.org/about/alphaclubs.htmlAKC member clubs by type: www.akc.org/clubs/search/index.cfm If there is no Weimaraner specialty club near enough to you to be convenient to join, look into an all breed club. Don"t forget hunt clubs and associations---they will very often also have training and performance events of their own. North American Versitile Hunting Dog Association is probably the most widely distributed and offers field trials and titles. There are also many local clubs that do the same. www.navhda.org/NAVHDA also has chapters in Canada. You can also check my website, there are articles about breeding and training outlining how to get started. www.mrwetdog.com/ Good luck--you can do it if you want to.
