I am wondering whether there are any regulations/etiquette for other countries about this? In the UK, you can pretty much stack your dog to the left or the right unless the judge prefers you to stack otherwise. Depending on the dog, I vary the way around I stack but have been asked once or twice by the judge to turn the dog around so it was easier for him/her to 'go over'. When showing in the Netherlands I was also motioned by another handler to stack the dog the other way around but I think this was more a case of not having males facing one another rather than other ring etiquette or regulation. So, what's the done thing where you live? Do you stack to the left or to the right?

We always stack them with the left side of the body facing the judge here in the US. I don't even know if you are allowed to face them the other way. If it is, I have never seen it or have never heard of it. I do know that some handlers will have the dog move on the right side of the handler, altho most people have their dogs on the left.

Daniela,
I don't think that there are any regulations about Stacking the dog to the left or right,
I show many breeds and some times i stack the dog to the left and to the right,
I prefer to show the best side of the dog to the judge and if he do not ask me to change it (and he never did)it's ok,
and i made many BIS ........(some of tham was from the right side of the dog...)

In Australia, we face the dog to our right, some people with dogs that are marked so that it affects they way they look, might stack their dog facing to their left. I know someone who stacks their dog to the left in the gundog group, not sure why. She has lots of success, so it sure doesn't hold her back! Wendy

In the main I would say I show the dogs with their head facing to the right but there are some that I always have to stack to the left. These are normally the 'fidgets' as I find I have most of my strength in my left side to keep them still even though I am right handed.
I also think that dogs do have good sides so I keep that in mind too.

Perhaps with all the dogs facing one way, and then getting to the end of the line (presuming your breeds are placed in alphabetical order) it makes the judge have to look again because the dog standing the other way around breaks the flow from the eye and one would think, makes the dog stand out more.....?

When it happens that I am stacking dogs I stack to the left because of comfort, I have more strength in oneof my arms, nothing to do with marked dogs....this is particular of me when Im even doing puppies....simple.
