I thought I'd share with you some pictures of Glas Islwyn (Izzy) taken yesterday. I can't believe how big she is - but will she ever grow into those long ears?!!

Gosh Sian, Boris could be her twin, except his body hair is a bit longer and he's got "waves" right now down his back and all along his tail! My camera is kaput but I might get some while at work since he's accompanying us - I should have taken one this morning, our first field trip of the season and his "first day of work in the field as a Land Technician Field Dog/Pup" but forgot! (He tried helping write the notes and retrieving the monuments that are not supposed to be moved, so helpful, so eager to help!)
Beautiful girls, Cass and Izz!

Thanks Cheryl!
I don't know how long Izzy's coat will end up being.... Cassie's was still quite short at her age, and she's a real fluffy-bunny now! We've noticed that the tail hair is starting to hang away from the tail, so hopefully we'll have some nice feathering there...
It's quite fun really, wondering how she'll turn out!

What a fantastic photo, such handsome dogs. I have been trying to persuade someone to let me use a photo of a long hair on my website. In the UK I get people asking what they look like and I have had one dog in a nice show pose for some time, but I really would like a puppy photo or one just like you have posted. If anyone can help me and does not mind me using it on my website that would be great. My site is offline at the moment as I mucked it up the other day so working hard to get it back online again. So if anyone can help I would be grateful, it would just help people understand the difference in looks between the two. Thanks Rachel

I'm so happy to report another "family member" has contacted me today:) He has Boris' sister Bora and she looks like their sire Caruso in one picture and in the other, like Boris! They are both very leggy right now, having both shot upward recently and will be 6 months old on the 21st:) (sorry, changed pics...)

Hello Sian & others, It was a really nice surprise to see the pictures of Izzy on the forum. She's a littermate of our "Guapa". Izzy looks really cute !! It's nice to see how the little brothers & sisters are doing. So I quickly became a member so I can post some pictures of Guapa too, especially for Sian. On these pictures Guapa is about 5 months old. Rgds Ann

Thank you all for the warm welcome. Before, I've been visiting this forum as "guest" from time to time. Weims are not new to me though. Our previous LH Weim Zulu passed away last December She's still with us our thoughts - every single day. And of course we are very lucky to have Guapa now.

This is really funny Rachel, 'cos your question reveals the answer ! Guapa is a spanish word, it means "pretty girl" or "gorgeous" Guap o is the same for a boy The "Gu" part is pronounced as goo and the "apa" as ah-pa (oh dear, I don't know if this is going to look obvious

Still, for me it's a lot easier than Glas Islwyn. I sure don't know how to pronounce that, except for Izzy for short

Hi and welcome,
your Guapa is just adorable. I have to say there is that something in weims that no other breed has - eyes and that intelligent "face" look ;-)

Ina, I would love to see and print a picture of Bacchus for Boris' family album:) I just looked at the pedigree, Esra's sire! And, also Mowgli's sire? Or is their dam same (Ayla)? Who has Ayla?

Hi Ann and Guapa, She is a very beautiful girl. We had a litter of LH here in Germany about a month or so ago and they were a little darker. Sian, it is always great to see your girls! Hope things are fine with you all! jai and falko

Hi Ann,
How lovely to see pictures of Guapa!
She was "green collar", wasn't she? If so, then I probably spent over an hour, when they were both 6 weeks old, trying to decide which of the two of them was going to become our Izzy!! ;D It was such a hard decision, as they were both so lovely. She looks wonderful - such a regal look. And I love the close-up head shot. In that, she looks just like our old girl, Cassie....
I hope that you'll keep us up to date with how Guapa is getting on!!
