I haven't been out as much on the birds as I wanted and also still so much corn out where I live. Robert is counting the pheasants and remembering where he see's them driving home from work. And checking out the possibilities to enter those fields. So we try and drive and drive and drive on search of game....very familiar.

Labor Day 2008 Sprig (duck) hunt with Bully retrieving for my son in law's cousin Boris' Sprig duck retrieve, too And, another of a large field he worked while I was working, he found some kind of small hawk but the pic did not turn out, see how tired he is:

Woow, that capercaillies are big. I have seen them this summer in Lapland. Is this a young one? In my memories they where some bigger, but the three I have seen where standing near the road. Peter I like the expression of your dogs very much.

It was a full grown bird, 5,5 kg, so little above average, it looks a bit smaller on the pics because Mini pulled out it's tailfeathers when I was carrying it to the car...:-)
